Our team of specialists took part in an international project organized by the Peri Charitable Foundation to digitize an outstanding monument of late 15th–early 16th century monumental painting.
As part of the project, the entire interior of the church — more than 300 square meters of frescoes — was digitized using advanced panoramic photography techniques.
Detailed 3D models of the portals, dome, pendentives, and other architectural elements were also created.
The shooting took place over a period of two months, in the evenings after the monastery was closed to visitors (from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m.).
Each final panorama was composed of hundreds of individual photographs. Subsequent geometric correction was performed using orthoprojections generated with LiDAR and photogrammetry.
The resulting images, with resolutions ranging from 250 to 700 dpi, reproduce the original frescoes and architectural details with exceptional precision and fidelity.
